No signs and induction needed!

I live in hk now and if I don't deliver by 40w they will start the induction and all the medication.

I'm 39w now and panicking. FTM and doctor wants to induce as baby is in the 99th percentile.

I'm trying all natural methods .... what else can I do.

OB won't budge ! As babies are small here they don't deal 9lb babies regularly.

Their induction plan is 5 days. And if it fails then it's a section. No husbands allowed in the hospitals and no visitors either

HELP!

I’m sorry, probs not what you want to hear but you could try every natural method going & it may not work. It didn’t for me 🤷🏻‍♀️ Induction of labour it was! Honest it’s not as bad as you imagine.

Your baby will come when they are ready, and you have the right to choose how and where you birth. You have a couple of choices

  • wait, and simply don't go in for an induction
  • find evidence about benefits of waiting, and show your OB, make your case for waiting
  • come to an agreement of waiting til 41/42 weeks then induce, but with regular monitoring (once or twice a week)
  • consider your options for induction or Caesarean and write a birth plan that reflects your wishes if it goes ahead

Here are some articles that are a good starting point:

I'd be happy to have a chat about it all of you want - I am a certified doula & childbirth educator who has given birth in Malaysia so I totally get what it's like being in a different medical system!
