Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to stop baby from coming. If they are ready then they are going to come.
However, if you're having an elective section, should you go into labour before your given date, they should still give you a C Section as that is what you have requested.
Given you have a fear of giving birth, your consultant should understand this and just give you what you want.
Try not to worry too much my lovely. Labour isn't as bad as you think, though me saying that is not going to ease your fear regardless!
I wish you all the best and I'm sure everything will be fine for you 🥰🥰

I'd rather give birth than be cut open!

I don't think there's anything that can prevent labour? I'm the opposite; I'm 38 weeks and I'd like to find the magical method of bringing it on naturally. I had to be induced at 42 weeks last time; this time I'd like to experience it naturally.

Why would tokophobia require a c section? The drugs they gave me for a c section made me feel so sick and lots of people said the same.

Ignore me completely. I am stupid. I thought it was emetophobia

Please try to relax and try some deep breathing to calm your nerves, it isn't very likely that you will go into labour before your due date especially with a first baby. If you want a c section then that's what you should have, it doesn't matter what anyone else's preference is.
The best thing you can do is look after yourself, rest and try some techniques for relaxation, whatever works for you.

Really helpful Hmm

Sadly OP there's nothing you can do, but as a PP said if you've made it clear already that you want a C section, this should be taken into consideration if you go into labour prior to your appointment with the consultant. Tuesday isn't so far away.

Best of luck Thanks

@iwwntchocolate then help the OP.

What good does derailing the thread to have a go at me do? Stop looking for arguments, it's boring.

You'll be scheduled your c sec sometime in your 39th week and being presumably your first baby you've a good chance of making it. If you do go into labour phone the hospital straight away and they'll give you an unplanned c sec.

Biancadelrioisback · 08/11/2020 23:00

No need for personal attacks chocolate

Op is think even if you did go into labour you'll still get a section?

TartanPyjamas · 08/11/2020 23:08

It is misleading to say that if you have an elective Caesarean booked and go in before your date in labour you will have your Caesarean there and then. Elective lists will have their own dedicated staffing and possibly a separate theatre. Out of hours there may only be one team on for emergencies. If- for example- another woman is in labour and her baby is showing signs of distress it is not advisable to block the only theatre for potentially 1-2hrs for an elective case. This means sometimes labouring for a period of time before it is possible to operate.

I know this isn't what people want to hear, but it is often the case in many units.

Good news is that if you are denied a c section and the birth occurs
Naturally , you will get through it and before you know it will be holding your beautiful baby. Birth isnt a walk in the park but it's certainly something you can do !
