Being induced 39+1 unfavourable cervix?

So I’ve had reduced movements 3 times now so I have to call In morning to sort induction out. I was offered a sweep this eve and cervix was unfavourable was so uncomfortable and had some mild cramping and bleeding after. What are people’s experiences with a induction with unfavourable cervix ? Was it days long process and did you end up with c section? Just be nice to know others experiences. Tia.

I had 4 stretch and sweeps, then finally was taken to have my waters broken.

My induction started out with an unfavourable cervix (37 weeks, Bishop score 0). Gel pessaries didn't do much. If the labour suite hadn't been virtually empty that night, I would have had a second round the next day.

As it was, I was bought down and had waters broken. Still no labour after 2 hours, so up went the drip. Drip got things going, though had to be turned up quite high. Progressed well, though baby did start having occasional prolonged decelerations, and needed a scalp clip for better monitoring. Fortunately they never got worse, and I was allowed to continue labouring. Eventually got to full dilation, pushed for 20 minutes and delivered my baby with no interventions.

All in all, a positive experience. 32 hours from first pessary to baby. 11 hours from start of drip to baby.

Good luck for later OP.

I was induced last week at 39+1. It took 24 boring, crampy hours for the pessary to work but once I got into active labour my DD was here in about 4-5 hours. It was only 3 hours from breaking waters to birth and everything up rupture of waters on TENS only. Then had gas and air. Was totally manageable and way better then my "natural" birth three years ago.
Good luck OP. Let us know how you get on

Surely cramping and sone bleeding after is a good sign though? This is what happened after my sweep but then I wasn't in full labour until probably 36 hours later, not sure how much time they'll give you before moving onto different ways of inducing you good luck though xx

Thanks for the replies. It was classed as a failed attempted I think it was just from irritation the cramping and bleeding stopped Hmm. I’m going in at 10am today ! Wish me luck everyone

Good luck OP, you've got this. Honestly my experience was so positive, I'm sure yours will be too. Your baby will be here in no time!

They inserted 4 of these rods that absorb water and expand to manually dilate me. These will be left in for about 12/16 hours and then hopefully break my waters Grin
