One week after c-section - Weight

I had a c-section just over a week ago, during my pregnancy I gained around 25lbs.
Today was the first day I don't feel as swollen or carrying heaps of water still, so decided to weigh myself.
I am 14 lbs above my pre-pregnancy weight, would I still be in the process of losing pregnancy weight/tissue/fluids or is this the weight gain (fat) I'm left with and need to shift with diet?

I'm not overly concerned about weight, but I have a health condition that is exasperated by excess weight and so would like to work on getting back down to my comfortable bmi, sooner rather than later.

Should I expect to lose a bit more over the next week or so before I start my diet officially?!

Congratulations
I put on almost 3 stone with both of my pregnancies
I would say it took at least 8 weeks for me to lose the weight if not longer the first time around x

Congratulations!

I'd wait at least a month post birth before standing on the scales. Your body has been through a lot and has a lot of recovery to do.

I'm pretty sure as well that our bodies hang onto a bit of fat post birth to ensure we have reserves for breastfeeding.

If you are breastfeeding it is important that your diet is nutrient-rich and has plenty of good fats so I'd say the first few weeks of BF aren't a great time to think about diet unless its just a case of reducing processed crap and replacing it with good meat/fish/veg etc.

My experience post section was that it took c 3 weeks and suddenly there was another step change in weight. So would give it a couple more weeks.

Thank you for replies! Not breastfeeding due to the medication I take so can ficus on healthy eating and calories a bit sooner than I would have if breastfeeding.
I'll give my body a few more weeks to recover though as that seems like the sensible option Smile
