Second labour speed

I recently had my first baby. I was induced at 39 weeks due to growth concerns for baby. I went from my first contraction, 1cm dilated, to my baby being born in 4hours and 25 minutes, although I was only in 'active labour' for 35 minutes!
My husband and I are planning to have a second baby but I'm now worried that if it's true that second labours are always quicker, that we won't make it to the hospital in time 😂😣
Does anyone have any experience with a naturally started labour after a quick induction?

Mine both started naturally, but the 2nd was much faster than the already-fast 1st.
Dc1: waters went. About 30 mins later contractions started. Baby born 2 hrs after that.
Dc2: waters went. About 15 mins later contractions started. Baby born less than 15 mins after that.

Mine was 30 minutes from the time I realised I was in labour until my daughter was born
Managed to get to hospital but was still fully dressed when I gave birth

My first was a few days of pains (but didn’t realise it was labour). Waters went and contractions came hard and fast. Dd was born less than 2hrs later.
Second, I had my first twinge at 5am then nothing until 9:30am. Waves of mild contractions but only started to get painful at around 2:30pm. Called the unit at 3pm and they said I was coping fine and to stay home as I could talk through them. Before I hung up I thankfully had another contraction that stopped me in my tracks and they told me to come in.
We arrived at the hospital around 3:47pm and waters had gone in the car. Wheelchaired into the delivery room, straight in the pool and ds popped out at 3:51pm.

My first labour was very similar to yours. My second was also 4.5 hours.

With my second, I was worried about it being very quick and got the midwife to explain to me and my DH what we would need to do if i had to give birth without a midwife present. Fortunately this wasn't necessary for dc2. However, it came in very handy for dc3 ...

I think it's hard to say if you've been induced as the early labour is artificial. For both my births I had quite a long latent phase - several hours - but once I was in active labour they were both pretty quick. Arrived at the hospital with DC1 at 4cm dilated and was fully dilated within an hour. Was 6cm when I got there with DC2 and was fully dilated within 30 minutes. Delivery time was another matter, however, little buggers Grin.

Hi OP Im in the same boat except my first labour was just under 3 hours and I’m expecting number 2 now!

I posted this thread recently:

Basically my midwives can’t say whether it will be quicker or slower if this one starts spontaneously, but I’m planning a home birth because I can always go in if I want to and it’s taking longer, whereas less ideal to have an unplanned home birth!

My first was 45 minutes, 2nd was 2mins, 3rd was 30mins, 4th was 35mins and 5th was 32 mins. All of them, apart from my 1st, were delivered in 2 pushes.

My first labour had a quick first stage, but he was back to back so my second stage was long.

1st baby - 11.5 hours
2nd baby - 1 hour 40 mins
3rd baby - 2 hours

I was induced at 38w with my first, took ages to get going, something like 8 hours to get into established labour but once I got to 4cm it took about 4 hours.

I had my second, no induction, 2 weeks ago at 42+2, I had a few very mild surges but nothing painful four about an hour then suddenly it hit and took 2 hours for him to be born.
