Gentle / natural c-section

Is anyone planning on a gentle/natural c-section?

What are your hopes?

I'm due in November and will need another c-section after having two (one EMCS for a huge stuck baby, and one ELCS for a breech baby). I'd really like this experience (my last) to be as calm and natural as possible but I'm not really sure where to start and what the benefits of each request would be, such as cord cutting delay. I feel like I'll need to be armed with lots of info and knowledge when I request all this but I feel a bit clueless.

Hi,I had one 4 weeks ago and it was incredible. If I ever were to have another baby,I'd do exactly the same with the same trust. There's a great FB page if you're on there. Feel free to ask me any questions on here if you want.

I will say, nuts be prepared to potentially have a fight on your hands. I gave birth 30miles away as at my trust,no one had heard of it and the consultant was terrible. A lot are still stuck in their old ways of,why would you want any of that? Just get in and get the baby out, which is such a shame as gentle C sections can be immensely healing if you've had a traumatic experience and are better for mum and baby. Don't be afraid to stand your ground if they try and fob you off.

Ahh great! What's the FB group called @Frazzlerock

I've always wanted a water or home birth but it never happened sadly. This will be my last baby so I want to enjoy it as much as is possible for a c-section, and for baby to benefit as much as possible. I am also desperate to breastfeed this time as I have a very very low supply (hypoplasia) so if a more natural section will help the process of my milk coming in then I'm all for it.

No advice sorry but are you the Frazzle who was on the July 19ers thread? I can't remember her username but know it had frazzle and rock in it. I really hope it's you but congratulations on your pregnancy either way x

Following with interest, considering c section for next baby after quite a long VB last time.

@kinsters yes that was me. We obviously lost that baby which was utterly devastating. Baby's birthday is coming up on 30th June, I always remember all of my lost babies birthdays. I fell pregnant again in Nov but we lost that one too at 9 weeks (our 4th loss). This one has actually got to 18 weeks (tomorrow!) and has loads of scans and all going well so far thankfully. I remember you from the group, how are things? Weird to think all our babies are (or should be) approaching 1 now x

Hey! I'm so happy for you, congratulations. I often think of the women on that group. I had my little rainbow girl back in January so she's almost six months old. My miscarriage baby should have been one on monday. My daughter is the light of my life though and I'd go through it all again to have her. Best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy/birth, I know it's been a tough road up till now x
