Meal the evening before C Section.

Interested in hearing what others ate for their last meal before the big fasting for their Sections.

I was thinking of having an Indian takeaway the eve before mine.
Hoping it will aid in going to the toilet!!

Couldn’t imagine wanting to kiss my newborn baby’s head with garlic breath tbh but have whatever you fancy Grin
can you not have a black coffee 6/8 hrs before the surgery? Coffee always stimulates the bowels.
Hope all goes smoothly for you on the day and you are soon home with your baby.

I had Chinese takeaway.

CokeEnStock · 16/06/2020 19:17

Sweet and sour king prawn balls!

MuchTooTired · 16/06/2020 19:17

I had hospital food!

WaitingForSeptember · 16/06/2020 19:19

How long do you have to fast for?

RedLemon · 16/06/2020 19:21

I can’t remember. I was more focused on having brie, pate and a full bodied red wine after - which I sadly didn’t, what with it distressingly not being on the hospital menu. Poor show hospital. Poor show.

...I might have it this weekend though now that I think of it (6 years later).

Didn't have a csection but I suggest something you can savour and enjoy cos it's going to be a while! Curry might also be a good call tonight if you plan to breastfeed

Older DD stayed the night at grandmas the night before my C section, so DH and I made the most of being kid-free and went for our last date night in a while. We went to miller and carter for a treat, it was lovely. Especially as not long after DS was born the country went into lockdown 😭

Nothing as I was in labour and couldn’t face eating.

If I end up having an elective this time I’ll have a bloody banquet (rather than insisting on eating a massive Domino’s 6 hours post-surgery because I was starving and then promptly vomiting profusely).

PaulinePetrovaPosey · 16/06/2020 19:26

Leftover Christmas dinner.

Less of an option in June, I suspect.

I ate a tonne of haribo straight afterwards, which was perfect for a quick perk up.

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 16/06/2020 19:32

Don't have anything that will give you wind!! The moment all my muscles relaxed under the epidural, all the gas I'd been holding in released 😳 in a roomful of doctors/nurses/anaesthetists. I was mortified!

MsMiaWallace · 17/06/2020 08:49

Oh yeah I forgot to take into account my babies opinion of 'garlic breath' Hmm

I had tuna pasta bake which I threw up about an hour later, 3 hours before my waters broke. Was meant to be having an ELCS a week and a half later but didn’t go to plan!

This time round I’m hoping we can go out somewhere for a meal as DD will be with her grandparents but all depends on whether restaurants are open.

Raaaa · 17/06/2020 09:22

Just stopped eating a day or two before labour after the birth had a hospital meal of fish pie and threw it back up 👌🏻

megletthesecond · 17/06/2020 09:25

Personally, I wouldn't eat much. It's going to stay inside you for a bit and the pain killers can cause constipation. I had a horrendous experience after my emergency cs.

I think I had soup before my planned cs.

reinacorriendo · 17/06/2020 10:00

I had the lost disgusting curry from the hospital as I’d been in 3 days and then chucked that up, can’t remover much else because I had GA first c section I had noodles threw up and one came out my nose Grin
