I had my last csection 3 years ago, I want another child. Will I be able to have an elective section with a new baby after this amount of time or will they try and push me to a vbac? Also if anyone has had three sections, how did they find a third one? Thanjs

I've had two sections. They tried to push for vbac initially but it was ultimately not an option due to other health issues. I was advised to not have any more children due to the mess of scar tissue.

My mum had three sections. She said the third one was actually the easiest but that was the smallest baby. She was sterilised during the section because they wouldn't do more than three back then.

I'm about to have my final 4th section, so it's most certainly possible. I've also not been advised at any point to not get pregnant but I did ask for them to stabilise this time and they said that was sensible as they dont like to go past 4/5 sections as risks obviously increase each time.

My sections have been easier with every one so hoping this one will be an improvement still. 3rd was much better recovery etc. Probably a mix of me knowing what to expect and my body too

I had my 3rd c section nearly 5 years ago. They wanted me to have it but I wanted to try for a vbac - they let me but weren’t happy. I went in to labour naturally but didn’t progress quickly enough so I was given an emergency c section the following morning. I’m currently pregnant and will be having my 4th c section in a few weeks. They didn’t offer a vbac and I didn’t push (mainly because I remember the pain of labour and the relief when they said they were taking me through for an emergency c section 🤣

I've had three and no one ever said anything about scar tissue/adhesions to me, but I know some people have them terribly, so I guess it's all about the individual and how their body copes.

My second section I had to fight to get an elective - but it was 11 years after My first one and the hospital is renowned for pushing for VBAC.

This time there will be 6 years in between - no one even mentioned a VBAC. Midwife and consultant both said “another section then?” And that was it. I was so relieved I wouldn’t have to fight again - different hospital though.

During my second section I did ask how it was all looking and the surgeon said I’d be good for one more, but that was it.

I’m still shitting myself for the 3rd one in August though.

I’ve had 3, if anything they pushed for me to have a section with number 3 and I had to fight for a vba2c.
I did labour naturally for 54 hours but it ended in emcs, I will be honest and say that it was awful, I was in theatre for 3 hours as I had terrible scarring internally and they advised me there and then not to risk another pregnancy as it would be too risky. My recovery after was very slow and painful and I had 2 infections, it took several months before I really felt ok but I am not sure if it was down to the operation being difficult more than just because it was my third.

Just had my third. No pressure to have vbac and easiest recovery.

I had 3 C Sections. First was an emergency and the other 2 were elective. When you see the doctor, do say that you want an elective C Section and the reasons why. Mine was because I didn’t want another emergency one, and that I was nervous about the risks of having another long labour and then having to have a C section, and also anxious about the scar tissue being weak.

I had 4 c-sections within 6 years. I was sterilized during the last delivery.
As they were so close together (first two were 14 months apart) I was told I had no other option

I've had three. No one ever mentioned a vbac on my third. We tried on no 2 and it wasn't successful. I had my tubes tied so there was no conversation at all about further pregnancies 😀😀😀
