VBAC after Elective C section

Hi all, asking specifically here for those who had a planned or elective c section in their late 30s for first child. How successful was your VBAC as I have heard if you have not laboured at all first time around and are older it is much less likely to be straightforward and need an ECS. Thank you

Why would you? Honestly, I just don't get the obsession midwives have with 'trying' for an unpredictable painful and could be fatal thanks to uterine rupture Vbac when you could request another elective.

My baby had to go in neonatal last time for breathing problems due to mucus. So I am thinking a VBAC for that and a few other reasons so asking what people's experiences have been.

I am 32, elcs 2 years ago (1st baby) due to breech presentation. I have opted for another elcs as the stats I was given was that my chance of a successful vbac (note, successful not uncomplicated) were around 60-70%. The 30-40% chance of an emcs was enough to sway me but ask your consultant for your own stats.

I am 36 and had an elective c section with my twins 6 years ago. I had a home VBAC 7 weeks ago with my little girl and I was told it could be long as it was my bodies first time labouring, it wasn’t.......

I had my first proper this is it contraction around 10pm mild but manageable by 11pm they got stronger and baby was born without any complications at 2:27am. I was prepped for an episiotomy but managed to get her out myself. I couldn’t have asked for a better birth! Have a look at the VBAC guidelines and discuss it with your midwife/consultant but for me it was definitely the right option x
