Hospital bag for ELCS

Thoughts on what kind of bag works best after an ELCS (without visitors to help)?

Initially I thought I would bring a roller/cabin bag so I didn't have to lift anything once I was discharged. Then realised it might be difficult after surgery to hoist the bag from the floor to the bed - or squat down to get something out of it.

I'm now thinking 2 smaller bags that on their own I should be able to manage lifting even after an ELCS - or even better just leaving them on the foot of the bed.

No I would definitely do a suitcase. I had no problem get things from mine from the floor. But I would have struggled to carry bags!

That's what I was thinking too as I don't know how I would carry multiple bags plus a newborn outside the hospital by myself! I'd probably split my stitches! I'm thinking of bringing a sling/carrier so at least baby will be on me and I only need to worry about the bag

Yes I would recommend a sling but I'm thinking surely midwives will be helping mums with c section out the door?! I wore my soon 4 days post c section and my legs got tired so fast!
