Can anyone give me tips on recovery & how it went for you. I’m terrible with pain & the thought of the unknown. It’s my 1st, so I’ve never done anything like this before. I just know I’m having the spinal block. I also have GD Smile

I had an EMCS. Was up on my feet three hours after surgery. Discharged next day. Down shops the day after. Keep ontop of your ibuprofen and paracetamol. Alternate them but don't wait for the pain to start before taking them. Ora-morph in the hospital is great but sends you west so I declined it after the first dose and opted just for the diclofenac then just paracetamol and ibuprofen at home. Honestly though csections don't have to be horrific recoveries. Move as soon as you can, it'll help you recover quickly, but don't over do it at the same time. The only main issues I had, getting up out of bed was a bit of a ball ache. And I was genuinely terrified to cough for two weeks and just didn't but that was more because I felt weak not because of pain. But I have friends who have had vaginal births, torn, and had worse recoveries. I'm opting for an elective this time round so can't be that bad Smile

I had a c section and it was really ok. I was so scared beforehand that I was crying. The spinal block wasn’t any worse than a normal injection. I think they put in a local anaesthetic first so it was just a prick. The whole experience is fucking weird as hell. But, totally fine. It was all really calm. You have loads of options for painkillers afterwards. So that’s nothing to worry about either.

I had a EMCS and it was fine although I’d been in labour nearly 42 hours by that point so I really didn’t care about much other than it being over! DD was born at 5am and I was up and walking by 2pm and discharged the following day. Take it really slow at first and keep on top of your pain meds and you’ll be fine!

I had a planned csection about 3 weeks ago. I was very scared and didn't enjoy it. If I knew how easy it was I would have enjoyed it alot more. It was the best experience of my life. I just want to do it again so I enjoy it more this time. The recovery was great. I didn't have any pain afterwards.
