After childbirth how long did it take you to regain a good control of your bladder? Is it possible/likely to get back to how it was before?

Straight away. Struggled towards the end of 1st pregnancy as DD was so low but had no issues after. Could control flow from first wee post catheter removal (epidural).
Now 38 weeks with DC2 and have only had issues when I had a tummy bug and was vomiting violently and again baby was very low. Now that's cleared up I'm ok again.
I did kegels religiously during both pregnancies so fingers crossed for no complications this time round!

Straight away. I didn’t ever not have control. I don’t know if that is common or not.

Straight away for me too (for all three births). How many weeks post partum are you OP?

ofwarren · 25/03/2020 10:21

I've had 3 children and it was straight away. You should probably speak to your midwife.

wonderrotunda · 25/03/2020 10:24

17 years and counting

I didnt. I had surgery when DS1 was 3 and half and ds2 was 1.
Definitely worth it for me.

Check in here as I am 8 weeks pp here and still with issues. I'm doing kegel exercises and sessions with my midwife (on hold now due to the lockdown).
I'm starting to lose my hope in regaining full control...

allfurcoatnoknickers · 26/03/2020 13:53

Straight away. I don't think it's any different to before I had the baby.

About 12 weeks for me, I was so scared it wouldn't go back to normal but it has

MrsApplepants · 26/03/2020 13:55

I’ve always had control of it, it’s no different to what it was before I was pregnant. Was the same during pregnancy and right after birth.

Tootletum · 26/03/2020 13:55

Never, but it's got a lot better. Two years after my third.
