Raspberry Leaf confusion

I went to Holland and Barret to get some raspberry leaf tea tablets. The woman in the shop said as it was my first birth I should take two 640mg tablets three times a day and that I shouldn't start until I have four weeks to go. I have just read however that you should take two 400mg fro 32 weeks. Does anyone know what's right?

I got them when I was expecting DD1 5 years ago and was told it was notr recommended to take them until 37 weeks.

have taken this from baby centre can link if you like but this is th relevant bit:

'It is very important not to use raspberry leaves until the last two months of pregnancy because of their stimulating effect on the uterus. Start with one cup of tea a day or one tablet and build up gradually to a maximum of four cups of tea or tablets daily. The tea can be sipped freely during labour, too.'

Hi Stefka,

I was in H&B looking at exactly the same thihng the other day too. I ended up getting really confused and thinking that it would work out really expensive if I have to take 6 tablets a day so I ended up just buying some of the teabags. They're actually really tasty Not sure they're as effective though as they probably aren't as concentrated as the tablets.

I reckon any time after 32 weeks should be fine. Apparently Raspberry Leaf doesn't make labour start earlier, it just "ripens the womb" (whatever that means !) and makes labour shorter when it finally does start.
