If you declined an induction and went into labour naturally, when was your baby born?

I'm turning my mind to this as the first appointment with the midwife to discuss induction or alternatives is on Friday. I can choose daily monitoring instead of an induction, and allow the baby to come naturally when it is ready.

So, if you chose the same and went into labour naturally, when did it happen?

@frillyfarmer I am sorry for your losses. I read this too and it is definitely a factor in my decision making. I can understand why you want to be induced. I hope all goes well for you today.

My trust doesn't induce until 42 weeks.

Nipple stimulation is my next go to on recommendation from my midwife. Sorry not much help for initial question as I’m still waiting for baby to arrive too, 39 weeks and doing everything to try and labour naturally. The very thought of sex just isn’t cutting it at the min but I might give it a go if I can talk DH into it. Hopefully you won’t be waiting much longer x

I refused induction with my first two who came at 12 and 13 days late. I gave into induction with my third and that was my most painful birth. I'm not having any more but if I did, I would refuse induction.

I went in to labour naturally at 41+3.
I went for a 3 mile walk and a full body pregnancy massage on the day in the hope of getting things going...and it worked Smile.

41+3, was seen on Friday, told to go in for induction on Monday. She arrived naturally on Sunday morning.

I'm 30 weeks. Will probably buy a new vibrator in case I go overdue. For medical reasons. Lol.

@Stringervest thank you, all went well. You can request an induction anytime after 40 weeks under maternity choices - most trusts work on 40+10 - 14. They don't like to publicise it, but you have any concerns you can arrange an appointment with a consultant to discuss.

My 3 were all born at 42 weeks +.
2 of them were born with the cord lightly wrapped around their necks. Honestly I know it is a very lonely time but maybe your baby just needs a bit of a reminder that's it's time to come out.

Thank you to everyone for sharing your stories and advice.

Thankfully I went into labour naturally this morning and DS was born at lunch time. We are now home and tucked up in bed, without having needed to make the difficult decision on induction.
