Nesting

I never nested with my first as i was in hospital in run up to birth. Today i have stripped the beds, tidied my bedroom again, cleaned bathroom, emptied all my lower kitchin cupboards, sorted and cleaned them, then put everything back, done 2 loads of washing, and put dinner on I guess this counts as nesting. How many of you nested before your LO arrived and how soon after nesting did labour start?
My LO is fully engaged and BH have been coming regular the last few days. Also back is killing, but could be due to cleaning.

Thanks

I didn't nest with ds, but he was induced so never got to that point, but I know of people who had very strong nesting urges and went into labour within 24 hours... Hate to say it, but you do sound like you might be...

With one of mine I started nesting at 9 weeks. Come to think of it, I nested early on with all of them!

Well she's not allowed to come tonight or tomorrow. Its my DD first day at school and babysitters arent back till tomorrow.

I doubt that will make any difference but good luck with holding on!

Thanks Nab, do you think a cork will work?

lol!

you can drop dd off here overnight if need be, then i can run her up to her school after dropping my brood off.

i nested like mad btw, got told off for cleaning the outsdie windows off the top floor flat we were in, till i pointed out they did flip all the way round and iwasnt dangling out of them.

cheers sis, hopefully wont need to. Does it sound odd that I would rather labour alone with a midwife and let dh drop dd off to her first day . What are the chances of her coming in the 30mins his away. LOL

I'll take it easy tonight, bath and bed me thinks.

doesnt sound odd at all. do you have a friend who can step in for a few moments at school pick up/drop off?

lisad123 · 04/09/2007 18:25

nope, my 2 best friends have had their babies. Maybe M will pop over and help if i need her , or maybe mum will be back in time
