Labour after birth

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
2 weeks ago I gave birth to my son who was born sleeping. Following his birth it took an hour for the placenta to be delivered, however the contractions continued to get stronger and more painful, I was already at the stage of you can’t not push I had to so when they continued and got worse than active labour I couldn’t stop pushing. They allowed this to continue for 2 hours in which time my uturus flipped inside out and prolapsed along with my cervix’s ( Midwife’s words) after the 2 hours I was taken to theatre when they found a tiny bit of placenta still attached and removed it and emptied my womb however when I came round I had 2 more pushy contractions followed by a clot the size of a golf ball ( I don’t remember this as was still coming round this was my poor mum and midwife that explained it).
Has anyone else had this ?
Should they not have acted sooner to prevent the prolaps ? Prior to labour I never had any issues no sign of prolaps and even immediately after giving birth nothing, the head midwife said it was caused by labour continuing and pushing with nothing to push against because baby was already out so instead pushed out my uturus and cervix.

I’m sorry you have been through so much. I had a complete detain placenta with DD2 (probably due to placenta being attached near scar issue from earlier emcs). I remember a lot of fuss, senior midwife (who was there for DD2 birth along with two other midwife due to high risk) was very concerned and rushed of at one point to get a doctor. They had me in theatre within an hour.

I ended up with a room full of midwives all moaning that the consultant had not answered the 5 bleeps they had already sent but no one made any plan to act just say about waiting.

I’m still strangly very greatful to every one of those midwifes as they genuinely tried so hard to help the best they could given the situation they where so lovely.

Oh I'm sorry that sounds like such an ordeal - and for it to go on for 2 hours. It certainly doesn't sound right to me and earlier intervention could have prevented the prolapse. I hope you are being looked after now

They are trying too I think
I was sent to a woman’s health physio as an emergency case but when I got there was told it was a waste of time as it’s only been 2 weeks (this was yesterday) and that like with any birth you need to wait 6 weeks to allow the uturus to shrink and sit in the right position aka non pregnant state

Mumof2and5angels · 08/02/2020 18:30

The worse bit about that was the physio is right next to the moutary where I carried to and said goodbye to my son

Sounds like you have had an awful time. Perhaps write it all down for now and then you can complain to PALS either now or when you feel up to it.

When you get your next referral for physio, either ring yourself or get someone else to do so and ask if you can be see at a different venue.

I’ve already booked in for me next appointment she did it there and then but due to being woman’s health physio this is the only place and it’s half hour min away from my house as it is
Pals are already investigating and the care during pregnancy it was very complicated
But I really don’t exspect them to hold there hands up and say they caused any of it.
Been told by so many to sue them especially as I can’t work for the foreseeable as a result but I don’t want that I just want to know if they acted correctly and if not then to put steps in place as I wouldn’t want any other woman to suffer
