C section 2 days before due date

Hi,

Just been given my date for C section and it is 2 days before my due date.

Little bit concerned at how close it is. They said to come straight to the hospital if any signs of labour before this and they will give an emergency C section.

Anyone had experience of this? Really worried they are just trying to get me to give birth naturally. I've had a few health issues recently that could further be affected by spending days in labour.

Fairly common. The aim is 39weeks no earlier unless medical reason to do so. But they do get pushed back due to activity

Mine was 39+3. And I did go into labour the night before. Went in as soon as labour started, and they put me through as an "emergency", but it wasn't really an emergency in that it was all calm and planned... so if you're hyper vigilant to signs of labour and get to hospital asap, an "emergency" section before your planned section date is pretty much the same thing.

Good luck! Hopefully you get the outcome you want!

Is this your first baby or is there any reason to think you will go into labour before the c section date?

Great, thanks everyone.

No, this is my second baby and no reason to think I will go in to labour early, I'm just over-thinking and worrying!!

I had an ELCS booked for 39 weeks exactly, then my waters broke two days before. So technically had an EMCS but was still very calm. There are no guarantees whatever the date!
