Recovery time from forceps delivery

Hi,

Pretty self explanatory from title, just wanted to gauge how long it takes on average to recover from forceps delivery in terms of walking without aching/tiring/dragging feeling.

How long did it take for you to get back on your feet and then be able to walk normally and fast for longer periods as you did pre pregnancy?

I’m currently 6 weeks pp and scared to go out out because I’m still struggling to walking up and down road without aching and dragging feeling down below

Every experience and body will be different, take your time and rest. Don't rush or feel like you "should" be doing something. I'd also be inclined to check in with your health visitor or midwife, or if you've been signed off your GP and ask medically what they'd say is unusually long and worth being checked over. I didn't have a forceps delivery so can't advise but wanted to see if you've heard of those cooling pads and sprays that are available for a bit of relief?

I had forceps and an was cut from front to back felt fine 24 hours later even walked into town yet with my dd she grazed me on her way out no stitches and that was so painful with sitting walking going to toilet everyone is different but if your worried go check with your doctor x

The dragging feeling could be a prolapse. You need an assessment from a women's health physio to diagnose this and look at repairing it with exercises.

i was fine within a few hours tbh
My biggest issue was the piles! bugling veins! i got from pushing.

I never had a dragging feeling

I can't properly remember when I felt fully recovered but I had other complications too. Think about 6 weeks +

The dragging sounds like a prolapse. Really common and might not need any intervention but definitely get checked out by GP if you can.

With an episiotomy and forceps, it did take a while for me. I developed an infection and wound opened up :( I took arnica tablets, I think I felt unwell due to being anemic as well as I had lost a lot of blood.

I do remember the awful feeling getting in and out of the car.. it’s hard but try and do pelvic floor exercises as this should help things a bit. You have my sympathies, everyone is different though, so it’s hard to give a timescale.

I found recovery from my forceps delivery worse than my emergency c section. The bruising and tearing combined were horrendous. So it really does depend on your individual circumstances. Have you had your six week check with the doctor yet? If not, that's definitely something to discuss with them then. Hope you feel better soon Flowers
