Posterior Birth - Nurse turned by baby with her hands

So guys, I'm curious to see if this has happened to anyone else. When I went into labor my baby was not in the correct position. She was laying with her ear facing up towards my stomach. She was extremely low and they could see her head. My nurse during each contraction had both of her hands inside of me and was manually turning my baby a little bit during each contraction. This lasted for at least an hour and then finally the doctor came in and said they thought she was turned enough and ended up vacuuming her out. Has anyone else ever had this done? I've googled and googled trying to find someone else that had their baby manually turned by the nurse for posterior babies, but haven't found anything.

They try and do it on Call the Midwife whenever someone is breach. When it's done vaginally I think it's called podalic version.

What’s bothering you about it? Childbirth can be a bit traumatic and take a while to get over mentally.

Had an induction with DD, with epidural. After over 2 and a half hours of pushing, when the doctor arrived, she managed to turn DDs head by almost a quarter turn. She then went to get ready for this to be an instrumental birth and DD (at the encourage of the midwife, who said "I reckon you can push baby out before she gets back") was born within 5 mins or her head being turned.

Very similar to @Vebrithien. I had a long labour that we slow to progress, when I finally got to 10cm they discovered my babies head was a bit stuck which was causing him not to descend into the birth canal. The midwife managed to turn his head (I think just with one hand right up there) and I managed to push him out.
