If your first baby was overdue was your second also?

DD was 2 weeks overdue and I eventually went into labour the day I was due to be induced. I'm now 38 + 4 with number 2 and wondering if I'll go over again. Just wondered what other peoples' experiences were.

Second baby born 2 weeks early naturaly.

DD was 4 days late. Ds was 10 days late.

I'm presuming I'll have to be induced with this one

Not necessarily. I think first babies are more often late, second ones tend to be earlier.

I was induced with my first baby when I was 11 days overdue. Went into labour with second while waiting in hospital for elective c-section at 39 weeks exactly.

my second child (1st labour) was 6 days late and my next one 10 days early.

DS1 1 WEEK EARLY, DD1 I WEEK EARLY
DS2 1 WEEK EARLY, DD2 1 WEEK LATE

all 3 times I went into labour day I was due to be induced, 12 10 and 8 days over.

DD1 7 days late.
DD2 10 days late. (Had sweep with DD2, but did manage to avoid induction)

All 4 of mine have gone to 42 weeks, I'm afraid. I think some people just have longer than the average pregnancy.

Thanks ladies. It looks like I'll have to keep my fingers crossed for earlier rather than later and start eating pineapple, curry etc I'm hoping for a VBAC and not sure they'll let me go too far over due to size of baby (DD was over 10lb and this baby already measures over 8 1/2lb on scan).

dd was 42 weeks, ds was 41+4. I think mine are meant to cook for 42 weeks That waiting is such a drag. Not planning on doing it again(not atm anyway, ds is only 4 months so still time to change my mind,lol)

Sorry, I was early with DD but my mum went late with all 3 of her DC I'm afraid. I was thinking that I would be the same so when DD arrived a week early, I was gobsmacked!

dc1 - induced at 10 days over (my dates, 14 days their dates), took days to get labour going

dc2 - induced at 16 days over, but had started to have some contractions that day

dc3 - induced at term for various reasons, took days to get going and nearly had to have a section, she wasn't fully cooked!

dc4 - indcuced at 14 days over

my Mum went over with me and my brother too, so we're definately I 43 week pregnancy family - my poor dds!

dd1 13 days over. I got induced.
DD2 14 days over. Also got induced.
DD3 4 days over. Had a natural birth.

Late with all 3! And induced with all 3!
