Is there anything I can do to slow labour down?

the only way I can desribe it is like pushing the biggest and hardest poo of your life! It hurt like hell but not for long at all and just when I thought that I couldn;t do it anymore out she popped and the pain disappeared almost instantly. There was also a feeling of Wow I've done it, was very proud of myself and promptly burst into tears.

When are you due and is this your 1st?

the 1st time I had gas and air and pethadine (no problems at all for DD1 - top score on apgar test - not a PFB moment just to show that it doesn;t always affect the baby!) and with DD2 just gas and air - again just to say that I'd done it once and was happy to do it again and I would do it a 3rd time except pregancy goes on tooooooo long!

Sorry not replied sooner - been away.

With DD1 the mw didn;t tell me how to stop pushing, she just told me to stop pushing which was bloody impossible, however with DD2 the mw told me to pant and showed me what she meant and I have to say it did help - it gave me something else to think about and you actually can;t push too hard when you are panting, although I still had the urge and need to push and my body was trying to, I just couldn;t put my all into it when I was pushing, and then when it was time to push properly I could

Did any of that make sense?!
