Third births?

We’ve just found out we are having our third baby - so Labour is a way off yet.

I was wondering how you found the third labour? Was it quicker than the previous two? My first DD was a 30 hour job and horrendous, DD2 was 4-5 hours from start to finish.

I’d love the third one to be easier still (wouldn’t we all?!) and I’m not going to lie, I’m slightly bricking it 🤣

Congratulations! None of my labours were very quick but I think what's more important is how long the intense bit lasts. I'm one who niggled and had a stop/start first stage with all my babies but a short second stage. My third was definitely the easiest, it's was almost enjoyable. I felt in control and everything went smoothly and no stitches! So much is down to luck but go in positively.

After pains do get worse with each one, in my experience, especially when feeding. I used my breathing techniques, a little paracetamol and tried to remember that it meant my uterus was contracting back to nearer its original size. It tends to ease once baby is latched in for a few minutes and after a few weeks it goes but yes, ow!
