Diorrhea after C-Section (Could require a TMI warning)

Hi everyone,
We welcomed a beautiful baby girl on Monday afternoon by C-Section. All went well and we are home. I was told to take regular Paracetamol and ibroprofen as well as dihydrocodeine and they gave me ferrous phosphate as my iron was a bit low. They warned me that I might feel constipated with that. I haven’t been taking the dihydrocodeine as I’m managing ok and it makes me feel a bit woozy.
Anyway, just as we were discharged from hospital, I stated to feel really bad wind! Then I went to the toilet and for want of a better term, it just exploded! My husband found it hilarious. I had a few of those episodes last night. I stopped the iron tablets just for today until I’d checked with my midwife in case they were having the opposite effect and Causing this as this started Shortly after my first one . Now I’m not so sure.
Today, I woke up feeling much better that way but then the diorrhea has continued this afternoon. It’s not such an ‘explosion’ anymore but rather my stomach cramps, I go to the toilet and then pass some solid poo with Clear, mucusy diorrhea. I feel generally ok except for the pains in my stomach before I go and I feel a little bit sick.
My midwife hasn’t been out as planned so I’ve phoned and explained to the day unit. They said they’ll sort this tomorrow. They said this isn’t really typical after a section and maybe I’ve got a little bug and to monitor it. I wondered if anyone has had anything similar?

Thanks

I had this on and off for a week or two after my section, the midwife said it can happen after all the rummaging around they do but it should go away by itself.

Thanks so much @Pinkywoo. My midwife came later this evening and said the same so now I feel double reassured 🙂 x

I found the dihydrocodeine seemed to give me the runs, but after a few days the iron tables started to bind me up again.

I had the same but I discovered the difene they gave me for pain relief was causing it! Switched painkillers and all was fine again.

Glad to reassure! Just to add that apart from oromorph for the first day, I only had paracetamol (I can't take ibuprofen) so mine definitely wasn't painkiller related.
