Being induced in just over two weeks.

How many Mum's out there have been induced? This is baby no.3 for us and unlike the two previous pregnancies, we've faced nothing but complications, we've just had our home birth taken away and have been told we must be induced before our due date. I'm really nervous and understandably upset that we are unable to labour at home, I understand there are health risks (that they only just found out about which I find ridiculous) and that is why we have to go into hospital, But I'm finding it hard to get my head around to the idea of having my baby in hospital. There is so much scare mongering around being induced. All people keep saying is it hurts more and takes longer etc?
I'm seeing my midwife today and have been booked in to see the consultant midwife at the hospital next week to discuss the possibility of still having a water birth.. But I'm just feeling so uneasy now.

I was induced 12 days ago. With 3rd baby. I had the gel stuff put in. I wasnt dilated at all. Contractions started about 4 hours after. Labour was an hour long. No interventions needed.

Congratulations on the birth of your baby, I hope you're both doing well! Thank you for the comment! I've been told I have to lay down for an hour after they insert the pestery? It's ridiculous that I'm so nervous, I think it's because my first Labour was in hospital and wasn't that great, baby no.2 I had at home in the pool with no pain relief, so now I'm having to go into hospital with this baby my mind is only letting me relive labour no.1 constantly. I have really bad SPD this time around, far worse than last time, so the lack of mobility and sleep probably isn't helping any!

I was induced with my first baby 4
months ago. 2 pessarys 6 hours apart which got me to 3cm with no pains. They then broke my waters and she was born in 2 hours. Yes you have to remain on the bed on the monitor for an hour after the pessary. I only had time for gas and air as it all happened so fast so it was horrendously painful but I have nothing to compare it to. You'll be fine just trust your body.

Yeah you have to lie down either on your back or side for a hour. I wasnt monitored until in labour. Was up walking about trying to help things move along. My other 2 labours were quite different. Out of all of them my induction was easiest. Hope all goes well 😊

I've just found out I'm being induced in 10 days at 38 weeks with DC3.

I'm also very apprehensive about it, I had straightforward, quick natural births with my other two and am terrified of interventions or ending up with a section. I would love to go into labour naturally before then but I know that's very unlikely.
