Spritz for Bitz

Is spritz for bitz as amazing as people make out? Does anyone know if there is a cheaper alternative or is it worth the £20 price tag?

I swear to god it is absolutely amazing.
I had a very quick induction and had an episiotomy and 2nd degree tear (including a retained placenta which involved a spinal block to get removed).
I used spritz for bits straight away In hospital and sprayed it on myself before and after. I then sprayed it on my maternity pads (boots ones are great) and I healed amazingly. I have nothing to compare it to as she was my first baby but the recovery I was dreading wasn't bad at all. My stitches were dissolved within 2 weeks too. Best money I spent!

I used it after episiotomy and have healed really well. I found it even better when put in the fridge before use.

This is either a joke or an ad.

Not an ad or a joke- wondered if there was a cheaper alternative that worked as I don't want to spend £20 on something that either doesn't work or I can buy for cheaper!

@careynurse I'd happily of spent double to heal as quick as I did it's a no brainer!

I've had two 3rd degree tears and haven't used anything other than rinsing in the shower regularly.
Both times I've healed really well. External stitches have dissolved within a week and I've had minimal pain.
Second time the discomfort has lasted less than 2 weeks.

Spritz for bitz is amazing, it literally soothes and heals. The midwives raved about it when I had DC3 last week.

Wish I'd known about it for the first two births!

Hi Op, I used it after having my little boy as I had an episiotomy. I was fully healed and back to normal within 3 weeks. It was worth every penny (of my husband’s money!). My little one is now 6 weeks old.

@20viona Your birth story is identical to mine! I had a retained placenta that had to be removed in theatre after the midwife pulled and snapped the cord!

I too rate it very highly. I healed so quickly this time. Well worth the £20!!!

Isn't it just essential oils in a bottle? You could probably make your own.

I gave birth in Germany and in the postnatal rooms they had these little minibar type fridges which were stocked with maternity pads heavily spread with calendula and witch hazel (or maybe it was arnica?) in the form of a cream. They were AMAZING. Some of them were frozen and some were just fridged.

Totally worth the cost

I made my own, then didn't need it. It's essentially a mix of lavender, tea tree oil, which hazel and various other essential oils with water. There's a lot of guidance online of the amounts needed (I found it v easy to do), although as I said I didn't use any of it so don't know if it actually would have helped or not but a lot of my friends used it and said it was good.

I’ve got a third degree tear and I have the spritz for bits, tucks witch hazel and the Frieda cold packs. I was wondering how soon I can use this as in other posts people said to wait a few days. I have dissolveable stitches.

Straight away go for it.

I've found it great for soothing piles too! 👍
