"Second labours go faster" - even if the first one was failure to progress?

My first labour took several days. I eventually got to 4 cm dialated with contractions every 2 minutes, but stayed like that for 12 hours. Induction drugs did nothing to speed things up, so I eventually had an emergency c-section.

Everyone says that second labours go faster, but given my past experience, I'm wondering if that'll be true in my case? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

(I'm hoping to have an ELCS this time, but am pregnant with twins and there's a high probability I'll go into labour early - so I'm actually hoping that things will go slowly, if they start naturally!)

First I only got to 2cm and had EMCS.

Second when I got to hospital I was only at 3cm and so started talking about electing for a section because I thought it was going the same route and I wouldn't dilate anymore like last time. Little did I know I went from 3-10 in an hour. Problem was because they thought I was only 3 I didn't get the pain relief I wanted as according to them I wasn't in labour. Ended up in another EMCS anyway.
