Hyper mobility birthing issues

I've got an extreme case of hyper mobility and was talking today with a nurse who says I'll need to be monitored throughout my pregnancy and talk through birthing options.

Has anyone on here gone through labour with hyper mobility? Would appreciate hearing your stories so I know what to prepare for!

I'm in the same boat but they just said to 'just tell them you can push up on your wrists in labour'

Quite unhelpful really. I'm really worried my hips are going to be even worse after birth

I’m a bit hypermobile and found myself pulling muscles all over the place in the second and third trimester. Didn’t cause any problems during labour though.

You are far more likely to get SPD (your ligaments are already loose and your body loosens then). My SPD got worse with each pregnancy. My last one I was in a wheelchair by end. Good news. You have the baby and there is a really quick improvement. I had a c section with my last. Next day the women next to me could barely walk and I was up thinking “ok this is better then yesterday”.

I have this, like a pp I found the biggest impact of it was actually during the pregnancy- I had horrific spd and could barely walk at the end. Had complications first time and epidural but must have stretchy lady bits too as only a graze despite a mahoosive baby! Second time, just gas and air all fine and I felt incredible within hours because the spd went away straight away and I could walk again!!
