Lavender oil isn’t used to induce labour, it is used for relaxation (relive stress and anxiety) it can help with pain and helps with wound healing. Saying this, if you are calm and relaxed chances are labour could start as stress counteracts the release of oxytocin which triggers contractions.

If you do use some lavender for a bath or for massage you need to mix it with a carrier oil, so it penetrates the skin.

It can also be used:

• In a foot bath (couple of drops mixed with carrier oil)
• For a massage (back, neck, arms, hands,
legs, feet, abdomen) (couple of drops mixed with carrier oil)
• For inhalation via a bowl of hot water (neat)
• On the palm of the hand (couple of drops mixed with carrier oil)
• On a tissue / cotton wool ball (neat couple of drops)
• Cold or hot compress (neat couple of drops)

Lavender oil has been my pregnancy craving - smell not drinking it!
I've got it in diffusers, in the bath, on pillows and on clothes

You need clary sage oil and jasmine oil.

Clary sage stinks and should only be used when you're overdue. Jasmine smells much nicer, and again should only be used if you're overdue.

Don’t use clary sage or Jasmin until you’re in labour.
