Hi
I am having a c-section and cystorectomy which is the removal of a large ovarian cyst straight after my c-section.
Any one had this.
Please share your experiences.
Recovery time.
Pain.
Etc.

Thanks

Hi

I just wanted to reach out to youafter reading this post. I had c section on 25th Sept and also had cysts removed after the baby was born. I had no idea about the cysts bwfore my c section. I had one on each ovary. Thr one on the left ovary was ruptured. The one on the right was the size of an orange. Bith were removed.

Obviously my experience is recent so I cant really share on how long it took to recover because im still recovering now! But what I would say is having had a previous section, this has been 10x more painful and longer recovery. I feel pretty much useless at the moment orjer than feeding and changing baby in a nursing chair, i dont do anything. How are you finding it? I noticed a madsivr difference in the other mums sectioned the same day as me, they all sremed to be up and about with minimal pain the following morning. Ive had some further complications aswell after the surgery. I couldnt pee after having catheter removed so ive currently gotna catheter at home until friday which will be 9 days post op. Have you haad any other complications?

Hope you are doing ok and enjoying new baby xxx

Thanks for sharing @laurac85 I’ve had the cyst drained when I was17 weeks about took me two weeks to fully recover but the cyst grew back.
I’m in pain constantly but not as much as when my ovary twisted at 17 weeks.
Im nervous because I’ve looked at others experiences but only seem to find either c sections or removal of ovarian cyst but none are joint surgeries. My cyst is currently 10cm I have 4 weeks left until section.
Sorry to hear about your complications.
How long were you in hospital, any tips for me?
Thanks

That sounds awful! I guess at least they know that they are doing the cyst removal at the same time.

I didnt even know about the cysts until they did the c section and found them. I guess im lucky since i didnt have the pain you're experiencing in your pregnancy.

I was in for 2 nights. I was really keen to get home as I have a 3 year old aswell. However, in hindsight, I should have stayed in longer. Ive been back to the hospital twice since then and i also have to go in for the day on friday. I dont know if perhaps you will have an easier time of it because its planned? My anesthetic wore off because the surgery was prolonged so i ended up being under general anaesthetic but they will obviously expect you to be in longer so that wont happen for you.

I dont know if you've had a previous section but this one is far harder to recover from than my first section which was emergency section.

Its a week today that I had my son and Im struggling with pain but he is making it worthwhile Smile

I’m thinking it makes sense to stay a bit longer not much though my daughter is 11 so we’ve prepared her and she’ll be with grandparents.
I’ve never had a section before so that’s daunting anyway.
I wonder why you’re in so much pain I’d expect them to be giving you strong enough pain killers.
I’m happy you’re with your baby now. I can’t wait and just hope I can take care of him as much as I can while recovering.
I’m planning on getting a rise recliner so my husband and daughter don’t have to always help me out if the sofa.
That’s really good that you recovered quickly the first time. Everywhere I’ve read it takes 6-8weeks.

Yeah its difficult when you have other children you dont want to be away too lknf. Im sire your daughter, being 11, will understand though.

The painkillers arent really touching the pain but i dont want stronger ones because i want to be alert for the baby.

Recliner is a great idea. I have a rocking nursing chair with floor stool. My husband brought that downstairs to i ait in that. I find it easier to get up and down from there. I also bought the chicco baby hug 4 in 1 which i love. It goes up and down and is on wheels. So when im sitting, baby is in reaching distance to me. Then when i get up and can push the ceib around the living room to the kitchen to get a drink or whatever. Would highly recommend!

I’ve just googled it thanks so much it’s such a good idea we’ll definitely purchase that. Yes she’s mature for her age and already has everything packed plus a great gift box my sisters out together just for her for when baby is here. So she’ll be occupied hopefully.

I hope your pain eases. It’ll be nice to keep updated I’ll let you know how I get on too.
