Elective C-Section privately done prices

Hi,
I will need to have an elective c-section with my second baby for medical reason and I am considering private options.
I live in the London area do you have any personal experience and prices to share? I'm trying to keep the price as low as possible so I am considering the actual delivery done privately only.
Thanks a lot in advance

I appreciate I'm not actually answering your question, and without knowing why you are concidering this option it might be wasting your time, but if it's only the bit where you're on the operating table you want to pay for, might your money be better spent hiring an independent midwife who can advocate for your care while in hospital and care for you and your baby pre and anti natally?

I had a private ELCS at a London hospital that was an NHS hospital with a private wing and my consultant also had NHS patients and it was performed in an NHS theatre. The only exception to the NHS experience was the aftercare, not the section itself. If you’re going to pay private, I’d recommend saving your money for the private room in the private wing after you give birth rather than paying to do a private section. My personal circumstance necessitated going the private route all the way.

If you want pricing, just contact the hospitals you’re interested in and they have price lists.

Well 10 years ago it averaged out between 8k - 15k so I can imagine it’s quite a bit more now. A house deposit!

If it is for a medical reason then you are entitled to insist on having it within the NHS. You don't get more experienced doctors doing the procedure if you pay for it - it's often the same obstetric surgeon, doing NHS procedures all morning then private patients in the afternoon. Of course if what you want is a more comfortable and private care package before and after then private is lovely but that is a lot more than just the surgery.

Why not just call up some of the hospitals you're considering and ask?
