Early labor?

I'm 39+2 and have full on period pains. Literally feels like day 1 of my period; cramps in lower back and thighs and across abdomen. Walking and a bath helped. There's no pattern or the likes, it's pretty much constant.

Baby has been moving more than usual.

2nd baby but first was induced at 38 weeks and I got the epidural at 1cm dilated so can't really compare

Has anyone else's labor started this way?

Thanks x

No experience so can't offer advice, but I hope all is going well for you if it was the beginning of labour!

Yes, with all 3 of mine. But I'm afraid you won't want to hear, that it lasted a few day's every time before it really kicked off. I hope you're getting some rest.

I had a good few days of this before labour properly kicked in but I think you're on the way x

Definitely could be. I had about 2-3 days of this and it was very irregular. Like a few an hour maybe and then nothing for 3hrs.
Eventually they became much more regular overnight but still no pattern to them (but they were so often I couldn't get to sleep)
Then the next morning my waters went and that was it.
Fx for you.

Mine was like that. If you're like me, you'll be waiting a little while. Started 11pm on the Saturday, no pattern, just increasingly painful, my son arrived 9.38am Tuesday. Not to scare you but my contractions didn't reach 3 in 10min, but I was fully dilated and was rushed to delivery as soon as I arrived at the hospital at 9.20(ish)

Thanks ladies! They've actually eased off a bit today...but hopefully still a sign that things are starting.
