Delivery of placenta

I was just reading through another thread and noticed that a couple of people said not to get the injection to speed up the delivery of the placenta but they didn't say why this was. Just wondered why this is a bad thing.

QofQ You are right. The most important thing is that we have our lovely dcs. Isn't motherhood great?

That is so true. When I think back to my experience with DS2 it only seems like the most minor inconvenience now in hindsight. DS2 was definitely worth it and even though I got wheeled off to theatre he and DH got to spend quality time together. And DH still remembers that very fondly.

I think by the time I had DS3 in my arms I didn't care what they did........as long as I could go home that night

dinosaur my dh loves that he had that time too. He really feels it was special that he got to take care of her in her first hour of life. The lucky thing got to eat my tea and toast too LOL

my DH held DS3 while I was being stitched up (just as well as I was still getting high on the gas and air ) think he really loved it too.

Yes, DH did the whole lot for DS2, washed him, dressed him, everything.

It was nice as our first experience with DS1 was of DH accompanying DS1 to SCBU with DS1 holding onto DH's finger . But all's well that ends well.

QoQ - can't believe your latest is 11 weeks already! Congrats, btw!

TheQueenOfQuotes · 08/08/2007 22:21

well 11 weeks tomorrow! - and thanks ....must take some more photos of him to put on my profile - he's changed SOOOOO much (and nearly doubled his birth weight )

I had a homebirth with dd2 and wanted to deliver the placenta naturally, but it hurt and I agreed to the injection within 5 mins. When I say it hurt, this was after delivering back to back dd2 naturally, not like a paper cut. I didn't really mind, had dd2 then, and I was on cloud nine.
