Quick story, my waters went a week before due date, I was told I weed myself and sent home. A week later I had a growth scan and my water levels was significantly lower so induced.

Ended on drip got to 5cm but my consultant said because I hadnt been induced when my waters actually went it was failed and I'd never go fully dilated so he c-sectioned me :(.

I know most people won't know but I'm so paranoid :(. Do you think this 2nd labour be like my first? Or because I got to those 5cm is everything still a bit more stretchy down there enough for me to progress naturally (if my body works).

I'm sure lots of people do have successful vbacs. However my experience was I got stuck at 7cm the first time and stuck at 7cm the 2nd time too. It was still a better experience, because it wasn't such an emergency and I got to be conscious for the birth. I would go in with low expectations and a plan b, and if it goes well it's a bonus.

Thank you Redsheep xx

I wanted number 2 baby for ages and my birth experience with DS really put me off. Consultant seemed to think it was failed induction because it was too late.

I'm just scared I'll have to have a section again. I can't stand needles and theater, it was a horrible experience.

Had very similar first birth to you. Second was a natural birth took 5 hours start to finish. Nothing was the same feel like my births so different they happened to different people!

@MsTSwift Thank you, this makes me a bit more at ease.

I feel more in the know this time, first time they told me I weed myself so I never fought back, and my drip was turned to max and I gas and aired it thinking that was norm.

My hospitals labour ward has actually been shut down since, due to failings and the number of infant deaths.

I count myself lucky, I have my little boy it's all I ever wanted. It just sours the experience.

Slightly different to you, but 1st time I was induced at 34 weeks, (pre eclampsia, into eclampsia) which resulted in nearly losing both of us and emergency c section. I was terrified same would happen, 2nd vbac was the best birth, I was full term, in control, totally great (except stitches), 3rd a week early, had hbp turned into eclampsia during labour she was a very rapid birth. Told by docs not to have anymore again.
Good luck op, as scary as it is, you can prepare more for this one.

I had a c section with my first due to breech and suspected iugr- really wanted vbac for 2nd even though there was medical resistance and I loved it. All went well. Everyone was cautious - wasn't allowed in the Pool etc and had extra monitoring but all safe and successful

Thanks girls you've really put my mind at ease, I know I can't control what will happen I guess I just want to know I atleast have a chance to have a vbac.

@IamHyouweegobshite it's lovely to hear you got a vbac after the first birth, you just want a rerun after the first being so stressful. My mum didn't have pre eclampsia, but she said with my sister her 3rd she went into labour at 9 and my sister was born at around 11.45. So third just flys out lol..

@nomorefrogs That's really reassuring :), I havent seen a Dr yet, so not sure what they're going to suggest. The only issue I had I guess was DS was back to back and his head had caught the side of my pelvis a little but consultant said I still could of tried to push him out.
