Labour Complication Worries

I'm currently 39+1 and I have excess amniotic fluid so my bump measures big, from a growth scan 2/3 weeks ago the baby's abdomen circumference is at the 95th percentile, I've also had high blood pressure so was referred to a consultant (actually a registrar as the consultant was not in) this week.
They are making me do a 3rd gestational diabetes test (fingerprick 4 x a day) even though both previous tests were fine as are current ones and don't seem to know what to do with me as all measurements are high but not over excessively so.
They've left it that if the baby's not here in two weeks (I'll be one week overdue then) that I go back for another growth scan, which would be 4 weeks since the last one, but before I went, they scared me with the reality of having a big baby with a large stomach causing lengthy labours with complications and the likelihood of shoulder dystocia, emergency CS and injury to the baby.
I'm now terrified that I'm going to have an awful labour with a huge baby that gets stuck and is born with pain and injuries that could've been prevented had they scanned me again earlier and potentially induced me before she grows any bigger.

However, this is my first baby and I would appreciate your thoughts as to whether I am overreacting and stressing for no reason?

My baby's abdomen circumference was off the scale (literally) and when he was born I didn't think it looked particularly huge!

Its a shame they worried you - they are just covering their backs. If they were really worried I think they would want to induce you right now.

Try not to worry - I know that's easier said than done. See what the situation is in two weeks. If they were really worried, you would be being induced asap.

Thanks @Blue2309 😘

I would contact your team and ask specifically why you aren't being offered induction or planned c section.

Given all their concerns it seems unusual to me that they haven't mentioned these options and that they are prepared to let you go overdue. I have had friends in similar situations who have had planned CS.

Yes I agree - worth asking.

Thanks @diddlediddle I will try and get hold of them to find out

In my area if you report three episodes of reduced movements you are automatically offered an induction once past 39w. Just saying....

@Libbylove2015 noted... 😉
