Preparing for a c section

So I'm 33 weeks and have (simply put it) a heart shaped uterus, the baby is breech and because of the shape of my uterus they wouldn't be able to turn baby. I've been told to go on different websites to help get baby to live but nothings working. Both midwife and consultant have told me if baby hasn't moved by 36 weeks I'll have to be booked in for a csection. From looking at woman I my situation baby turning seems really unlikely.

So basically I'm terrified of a c section. I had a really traumatic experience with surgery in the past and I know the the lead up to it I'll be in my own head stressing me out.

I need advise and experience how to prepare what to know, what's good to take into hospital and what's best for recovery. I also have a 2 year old dd so if anyone knows what's helpful in recovery with a toddler running around.

I had a section earlier this year and by far and away the worst thing about it was the thought of it. It was actually a very positive experience and I'd do it again.

I had a c section this year with my second DC I also had a 2 yr old toddler to deal with as well

My advice would be if your partner is able to take time off make sure they do all the heavy lifting for the first week or so with your toddler

I had my mum stay with me for the first week so she was able to help check my wound and put my socks back on I had to wear the compression socks as advised by the hospital and the community midwifes for a week whilst I had the daily injections to stop a risk of blood clots which again my mum done for me as she was a nurse so use to doing that also move around as much as possible I'm another firm believer by keeping myself moving about it helped it heal quicker and it didn't allow me to think about the discomfort I was too busy with baby and toddler

My DH helped out with our toddler by doing most of the lifting I was fine had no issues with the c section I was up and about 12 hours after I had it and discharged the following morning it was uncomfortable at times when trying to get to sleep I had to have my DH help me out of bed for the first two days I also slept sat upright the first night so I was able to attend to my baby

In terms of the whole experience it was fantastic the staff were amazing the birth was calm and memorable have some fantastic photos taken my lovely member of theatre staff the recovery was also really good no issues and had I know it would have been like that I'd have opted for a c section with my first DC instead of ending up with nightmare birth experience and a nasty tear

You'll be fine Op with C section it will be over with so quickly you won't focus on the pain you'll just be happy to have your baby in a little bubble of bliss and happiness Wink

All is not lost. Most babies who are breech at 32-33 weeks will turn themselves head down by 37 weeks (97%).

The range where babies turn head down naturally is 34-38 weeks (36 weeks is the average)
So even after 36 weeks, the baby can still turn head down.

You can request a check be done the week/day of c section and if baby has turned, it be cancelled.

To encourage, just make sure you stay well hydrated. If you are well hydrated, the baby will have the optimum amount of amniotic fluid around him/her which will make it easier to turn around.

Thank you for your replies. My problem is I get in my own head and end up stressing myself out need to calm down, I had a really quick birth with my first so no pain meds but had to be cut because of dd getting stuck so I think the trauma of that is making me scared for this birth
