Induction - midwives seem uninterested

I'm being induced a week early.

Day 1 they did nothing as labor ward was full

Day 2 inserted pesary, got some tightening no pain. Came out after 16 hrs. After a brief monitor decided not to proceed further as I was having tightening (still no pain). Had to ask twice for an exam to check on progress, apparently cervix tighter and further back than it's been for last 2 weeks.

Went back an hour later to say tightenings had gone, and could they start next step. Was told they are busy and will pass it on to the next shift who don't start for another 1.5hrs.

It's now day 3 and I'm exhausted as it's a noisy ward and end up being up most of the night. Also spending all day walking or on the ball which is physically quite tiring.

Any thoughts? Should I just ask to go home? What's the point of me being here if they're not interested in inducing me? (either due to being busy or labor ward being full - I know they aren't being difficult for shits and giggles).

Thanks!

I had similar with my induction. Went in Saturday, pessery worked within 12 hrs, I was having contractions. They took pessery out because of no room on delivery. They couldn't have been less bothered I was in pain but going no where. Eventually gave birth Tuesday morning. I feel for you op, it's utter shit. I would mention to the shift supervisor how you feel but I doubt they'll do anything until they can

Obviously depending on your reasons for being induced, I would be tempted to go home and get some proper rest. In my experience being in hospital a long time before induction is counter productive for when you actually do go into labour as you'll risk being exhausted by that point.

I would go home. Either your induction is urgent/necessary, in which case they'd continue to the next step, or it isn't and then they'll stall, which seems to be your case.

So when you do tell them to stop messing, they'll either get their act together and suddenly find space or they won't be bothered and you'll be left in peace (as you should have been in the first place).

Thanks for the recommendations.

I took your advice and told them that unless they were going to do something I would be better off at home getting some rest.

In the end turns out my body wanted to get things moving and I have started in latent labor by myself. Definitely no going home now. Fingers crossed for a smooth delivery!
