Can I Demand an Induction?

AM SO ANNOYED NOW!

Been to midwives. Am 40+2 by booking scan but only 40 weeks by Last Period. (I was always told scan dates are more accurate) They won't do a sweep till next week and won't book an induction till the following week. I'll be 42+1 before they do anything serious.

I hate them. I've known I've been pregnant since I was 3 weeks. I can't wait any longer. I was expecting next week and had come to terms with that but to throw another week on the top is just horrible.

I wonder whether I can demand an induction.

I wouldn't

They tried to induce me for a week
then I had to have csection and almost bled to death due to my exhausted womb being too floppy to contract

Let nature take its course!

I was induced the first time, and it took ages (and a lot of syntocin, or whatever it is they use) to get it going. Like CD, this led to a few problems. The second time, my midwife was really relaxed about it all, but unfortunately I had to see the doctor, who panicked about me being more than 10 days overdue and booked me in for an induction the next day. The prospect started me off I'm sure. I started having contractions on the way home from the surgery. I know it is a pain to be so huge, and in a constant state of anticipation, but you really are better off waiting a while.

what the hell do u want to demand an induction for???????????, i was induced with dd and it still disturbs me when i think of the trauma..........took 4 days to dialte with those bloody sintocin pessaries........popped my waters then stook me on a drip to make my contractions come every two bloody minutes from the word the go.......6 hours into it i had an epidural which was a good job as dd went into distress and the docs had to take blood off her head while she was still snug in my belly.........another 8 hours and she arrives.horrible experience

Oh dear.

I also know people who have been induced, and it has all been fine, just in case anyone is reading this and freaking out.

Just probably easier to wait until the last minute if you can.
