Can you tell me about your experience with VBAC?

Do you regret going for a VBAC? Was it not so bad?

I had a section first time around because Twin 1 was breech. Twin 1 was also in SCBU for 5 days with an infection that they never could tell us what it was. Because of cleanliness issues, I'm worried about having another section (I read an article about surgical garments still carrying c diff bacteria after being washed in chlorine). Recovery for me was a breeze though.

I don't know if a VBAC is what I'm going to pressured into regardless but I would to like to hear from anyone here about how it went.

TIA.

I had a VBAC with my 3rd. First baby was straight-forward as it gets, standard delivery. Second was breech, scheduled section but I went into labour myself on a very busy evening & they insisted on doing section but only had theatre space when I was nearly 10cm 🙄 I really wanted to deliver myself but they wouldn't allow it.

Anyway on my 3rd I definitely wanted VBAC. My first 2 came quite early. This one was approaching term & consultant (I'm in Ireland, had chosen private care) was really pushing section.

Luckily I went into labour one day over. I found the labour hard, partly as he was a bigger baby, partly as I was monitored throughout so hadn't enough space to move around. But overall it was grand.

You should be fine to have a VBAC, if that's what you want. The reason you had it before was because baby was breech, not any specific problem that arose in delivery that might mean a section was preferable. Good luck!

I had a vbac, it was brilliant- spot on delivery. Obviously everyone is different and a lot depends on circumstances etc, but mine was great

I had 2 vbac For me Vbac was fantastic. Had placenta previa with dc1 so not a recurring problem. Dc2 labour was a breeze to be fair, but mainly because he was a bit early so didn’t realise I was in labour initially.
I think the fact that I wasn’t constantly monitored (ie. stuck on a bed) and allowed to move about freely, with both dc2 and 3, pacing the corridors definately helped in me being more relaxed and therefore let things progress naturally.

Things got a bit iffy at the pushing stage with both dc2 and 3 ( heart rates dipped) so both were born with help of ventouse but in the grand scheme of things that a minor thing.

Recovery after was amazing compared to Cs.

Unless there’s a very good reason for another cs I would def go for vbac.

I had a VBAC after an emergency section at 9cm for abnormal CtG and sepsis.
I was induced for polyhydramnios and suspected late onset diabetes at 39+ weeks... had a normal birth, but a 3B year and lost 2.5L. For the first few days I was regretting the VBAC but in retrospect glad I went for it and would have a second VBAC if we go for baby number 3
