Hypnobirthing for ELCS?

I have an ELCS booked and am quite nervous about it. Has anyone found any online hypnobirthing (or similar) resources that are well suited for c-sections? I know a lot of people say that what they learned in hypnobirthing was still useful when they happened to end up with a c-section, but I'd rather not go through a whole course that is aimed at vaginal birth. I have heard that many of the materials (e.g. the Positive Birth Company pack) are quite anti-intervention and sometimes cause feelings of inadequacy for those that have c-sections, which is the last thing I need!

Try reading this book The Positive Birth Book: A New Approach to Pregnancy, Birth and the Early Weeks https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1780664303/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_.TKfDbX17KXXF
This helped me understand all choices and things that may happen to put together a birth plan and covers c-sections. I had an emergency section following an induction that went wrong but the book really helped me understand the various things happening and my options.

Might be worth asking any local providers. I considered it before my elective on the advice of my consultant but decided against it primarily because I was convinced I'd rather have a general anesthetic. I spoke to a hypnobirthing teacher and she said she tried to keep her classes balanced for both, I just didn't get around to booking due to my df being really ill and then dying.

There is this:www.<a class="break-all" href="https://amazon.co.uk/Prepare-Caesarean-Hypnobirthing-Giving-Hypnotherapy/dp/1910756792?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-childbirth-3624416-Hypnobirthing-for-ELCS" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">amazon.co.uk/Prepare-Caesarean-Hypnobirthing-Giving-Hypnotherapy/dp/1910756792

Haven't used so no idea if it's any good though.

Following. I was also considering PBC but they do seem quite anti intervention. I am having ELCS but I'm sure I'll want to use the breathing.

For what it's worth, I did the positive birth company online pack and didn't think it was too 'no intervention' based as you just take what you want to take from it and leave the rest. We skipped all of the home birth/birthing suite stuff as we knew I was definitely giving birth in a labour ward due to previous medical history and still found it useful. There are sections specifically on induction and c sections which we found useful just to know what to expect (1st time) and how you can shape your experience (ie: you can ask for a "natural" delivery of your baby during a c section rather than them just yanking it out immediately) but we are very pragmatic people who can and do take things with a big pinch of salt and a giggle. We also skipped on the affirmations as it wasn't for us but found what we did use from it helpful.

I did the positive birth company digital pack and they have a whole section specifically on c-sections and how to use the relaxation tools to help you through having one.

I did it a year ago so unless they've changed it in that time, in my opinion it's very inclusive and positive about all types of birth.

Good luck whatever your decision Smile
