C section incision

Hello,

Hoping some of you ladies might be able to help me.

I had an emergency c section last Thursday and feel like I'm recovering well. I am just unsure what is normal in terms of the actual incision.

My midwife took out my stitch yesterday and it was a bit sore and one section was a little weepy. She wasn't overly concerned but told me to keep an eye on it.

So I am wondering, what is normal with an incision at this point?

I've been given little advise but have been letting warm water run over mine and have started gently dabbing it with a warm wet cloth. It seems to be looking better since I started cleaning it for sure!

Is a little bleeding normal at this stage?

I was told to use the antibacterial body wash from the hospital on my incision. I have had no problems and its healing well. Have you got any of that?

My wound was a little weepy for over two weeks. I had it checked regularly and everyone said it was fine. I'm at week 5 now and it is indeed totally fine! I was advised to just use water, no other products on it. Which is what I did. In terms of bleeding, did you mean from your wound or more like period type? I had bled heavily for just under a week and then lightly for another week. Again I was told that was totally normal and to expect that it can stop and start so to keep wearing pads just in case...!

Thanks for your replies. I went today and they said it did look a bit angry and sticky but... they don't think it's infected.

Told me to keep on keeping it clean and dry and just give it time. They have taken swabs just incase.
