Induction after previous section

Hi just wanted to know if anyone has been offered induction after a previous section.
This is my 5th baby, with my first 3 babies I had natural deliveries but my 4th was breech so had to have a section.
I have been told by my midwife that they don't really induce women going for a VBAC, just wondered what other people's experiences were. Thanks x

No answers sorry but following as I am also worried about this with current pregnancy

I did, also after 3 vaginal deliveries and one c-section. It didn't end well (we both survived but we both have long term problems) but I don't think it was because of the previous c-section. I was 36 weeks and had an infection and I was under huge pressure to get him out fast. An induction is usually a marathon, not a sprint. Realistically it was never going to work and I should have been encouraged to have a repeat c-section.

I just had a birth choices appointment after previous section and the consultant told me that they weren't keen on using the drip on women who've had a previous section, because of the increased risk of uterine rupture - but they would try a balloon induction (sounds like they basically blow up a balloon in there to dilate you), as the rupture risk is almost the same as for spontaneous VBAC. So it sounded like they would, but maybe wouldn't use the full range of possibilities, just the gentler ones that aren't as likely to lead to such full on contractions.

No personal experience, as I'm opting for repeat section! But after a section you should get an appointment with a consultant to talk over options - so they should be able to tell you more there. Could be something that varies according to trust policy, but it certainly wasn't ruled out according to the doctor I spoke to.

I'm seeing the consultant on Tuesday to discuss what will happen if I go to 40+12.
The midwife said he will probably only agree to breaking my waters if I go overdue, sometimes they agree to trying the balloon method of induction but in all honesty I don't know anything about that method.

Yes they can, but with a number of restrictions which often depend on trust. Ie mine won’t use a pessary, but will break waters/ go to the drop but won’t use the drip to speed up spontaneous labour with previous C section

They will induce in some way or form
But you might find your options more restricted

Depends on your circumstances/consultant I think. One of my friends got the drip after 1 previous c-section and but they were only willing to use the balloon after 2 previous c-sections (same friend different births).
