Viginal dryness postpartum

I'm nearly 6 months postpartum & since 5 weeks after I had my baby I've suffered from bladder issues, frequencey, & a pressure feeling, going through to burning and stinging of my Uretha & whole viginal area. I have had endless tests so camera in my bladder, scans, X-ray & everything looks normal, no urine infection either. I'm not breastfeeding , but my skin is really dry. Could this be viginal dryness? Please tell me it's gets better?

Have the tests included an assessment for prolapse?

A doctor has looked & said it feels in the right place but that's about it. I'm going to a psysio next week so I'll see what they say. 6 months is a long time to still be having issues tho isn't it

Did they do a vaginal examination while you were lying down, or standing up? A mild prolapse can cause issues, but can potentially not be seen in a lying examination, as the effect of gravity that would happen when you stand, is reduced. A qualified women's health physio should definitely do a standing assessment with you (and yes, it's a graceful as it sounds 🙈).

A prolapsed bladder could take into account both the frequent urination, and the feeling of pressure. I have also heard that a urethral prolapse can cause a stinging sensation, but I don't have personal experience of that.

A mild prolapse can take months or even years to resolve - either by itself or through therapy. So at 6 months pp, this is still definitely a possibility. There are many effective treatments available, so keep pushing for help until you get an answer you feel comfortable with.

Okay, Thankyou. I'll double check when I go next week.
