Consultant appointment tomorrow 36 weeks

I had a section previously, so is tomorrow my opportunity to ask questions? Raise queries?

If I request an earlier date will they likely listen? I'm thinking 38 weeks.

I've been having growth scans, and baby is measuring large (over 95th centile) putting roughly 1lb on each week for the past 6 weeks. Currently predicted at 8lb5oz at 35 weeks.

I also have a bit too much fluid, can't remember the correct term, begins with P haha.

I can barely walk, terrible pelvic pain, having weekly acupuncture which is little help. I can't stand for more than 5 mins, and the worst piles I've ever experienced, bleeding quite badly.

Is this appointment where I bring up what happens on the day too? Will they makes notes etc. Thanks, sorry I'm a little clueless, it's been 13 years since my last baby so a little out of touch. Grin

Yes, you can raise all your queries at this appt. they are unlikely to bring forward your c section date, unless there is a medical need. Being fed up doesn’t count.

They are unlikely to bring forward the date unless there's medical reasons

This is the exact time to raise any questions you may have. They may well allow you to deliver by ELCS at 38/39 weeks if the baby is very large and also having polyhydramnios they will want to monitor you closely for the next 4 weeks. You may however get there today and your baby growth has slowed and there is no worry about your fluid levels as these normally drop from 36 weeks. Try to relax and write any questions you have down so you don't forget. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy OP.

I know its hard but they know what theyre doing and being uncomfortable isnt reason to bring it forward. I went through all this and baby was induced at 38w due to reduced movement. Theyre unlikely to bring it forward based on the weight youve said either, its not an unheard of baby weight. You can ask all your questions, maybe write them doen so you dont forget when you get in there but dont hold your breath on an earlier baby, its unlikely.
Having said that, if you feel your baby is truely better off out than in then say that. After weeks of RFM i argued and baby was induced at 38weeks. He was 7lb 8oz which is a fine size but since then he has pit on so much weight. He was born on the 9th centile and is now 97th 6 months later. They have since said there were issues while he was inside which restricted jis natural growth and if he had stayed in we may have lost him. Mothering instinct does play a part in this. But be sure its for baby and not for you! Good luck

Thanks so much everyone, I want to do what's best for the baby definitely, I'm just being a softie I think, forgot how yuck the last few weeks are.

So is it this appt I bring up skin on skin...delayed cord clamp etc or is that at pre-op x

That should be in your birth plan, do make sure it is in there today.
