Hello!

Was at the midwife yesterday discussing sweeps & inductions etc but dh & I took matters into our own hands (ahem ) last night and I woke up at 2.30 this morning with niggly back/abdom pain then had a slight bleed at 8.30. Have continued to have pains, think they're gradually building but they're quite sporadic so know I'm not in labour yet but just wanted to share my progress without exciting rl people!

Hiya decaf hows it going. Think i am going to be a slow burner too been niggling on and off for a couple of weeks and I am having regular but weak contractions at the mo . I am also overdue (8 days).

Hello again, still niggling on but getting frustrated now . Wish my body would just get on with it really, not because I'm impatient but because I'm worried I'll end up being induced at the end of the week and everything that goes with that - bang goes my water birth. The midwife's coming round in about half an hour for a pre-arranged 'sweep' appointment. I suppose she'd examine me anyway but I'm just nervous about the whole thing (quite private about my parts really which seems silly at 41 weeks pg!)

Wish me luck! (Secretly hoping she'll look at me in wonder and say 'wow, you're 8cm dilated... )

I am due today , having the niggles etc.... have been for a week or so.. worse over the last few days.. fingers crossed for all three of us..

decaf, I started a thread last week on being over - everyone gave me loads of useful advice. overdue too

I'd say the nipple stimulations definately works too. I did 8 mins each side for an hour. gave me a point to watching big brother!

I also had 2 sessions of electro-acupuncture the day before.

Am rooting for you. You just let us know if you want us to visualise your cervix opening en masse!!

And when I went back to the MW and discussed that I didn't really want an induction, we came up with a new plan together without simply going with hospital protocol. It really is worth having a chat and seeing if any thing else can be offered, or if you can buy any more time.

I'll stop going on about it now
