Please tell me its going to be ok!
I've tried all week to prepare myself but I'm so nervous for tomorrow!

I know it's scary (I was induced) but soon your little bundle will be here safe and sound!

Good luck xx

Often inductions doesn't mean birth the same day, so take snacks and maybe a laptop to watch Netflix/iplayer on! I had to have a pessary inserted which stayed in (supposedly but that's another story) for 24 hours before they even examined me again, then there's probably a wait to go to delivery suite. My point is you can relax it's not going to be rushing in, deliver and hey presto. You can request a birthing ball, get a magazine and spend those last few hours knowing you're in the right place if anything happens, and be excited that you know pretty much within 48 hours or less you'll have your little baby in your arms! Good luck!! It's an amazing experience xx

I had an induction and it was brilliant! I felt much more in control than my other spontaneous Labour, plus it was much faster, once it got going. You'll be fine... :)

I had an induction and loved my whole birth experience. Can't wait to do it again! Just remember, labour won't last forever. When one contraction ends, you'll never have that contraction again and you'll be one step closer to your beautiful bundle. Trust me, you're going to feel amazingly proud of yourself afterwards. You can do this!

I’ve had three inductions, all I gave birth the day after. Ignore the walk around but, have a good rest and save the walking for when contractions start. You’ll need he energy then.

Mine were totally fine, no further interventions of any kind. All gas and air. I had the dreaded drip and honestly it felt the same.

It’s normal to feel nervous, but go in expecting a fair bit of lying around and try to chill.

3 inductions here. I liked the control too. First two were pessary and gave birth within a few hours. I was over the ball and used gas and air. Number two I insisted on giving birth standing up - was the most comfortable position.

Number 3 - pessary didn't work. Had drip - I didn't realise they could turn the drip to different intensities. So midwife said she'd only turn it halfway whatever that means. It was fine - gave birth within an hour.

You will be well looked after, and probably have more attention than a 'regular' birth. I had an induction with dc1, the only downside was I felt a bit sick, not sure if this was the drip, the gas and air or the diamorphine, either way, I wish I had taken a second set of clothes as mine weren't very nice.

MissyPG · 05/04/2019 21:27

You’ll be fine, just think soon you’ll have your baby in your arms. My DD (first baby) was induced, and I managed on just gas and air. Big deep breaths, you’ll do great :)

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 05/04/2019 21:29

I was induced using prostaglandin gel. Took about 5 hours for contractions to start then 5 hours till baby was in my arms. Gas and air only. No other interventions.

I won't lie I was begging for the epidural, i could barely catch a breath once my contractions started since they were only a minute apart. Anaesthetist was in a crash section so could come and by the time she did I was pushing. Despite this I would do it again... i think the pain felt worse because i wasn't mentally prepared for it. I was convinced it would take days since that's what everyone had told me, including the midwife who inserted the gel "not even close to ready" was how she described my cervix. It all felt like toi much too soon whereas if I'd known it could go so quick and so intense I wouldn't have panicked as much.

You'll be fine op. Good luck

Macaroonmayhem · 05/04/2019 21:33

I had two inductions and both were fine. First took 24 hours from pesssry to baby, with about 12 hours of ‘proper’ labour, second took 14 in total with a mere 2 hrs of labour. Everyone talks about how terrible induction is so I’ve made it my mission to share my ‘mine was good!’ stories.

Good luck! It will be fine.

itchyandscratchyy · 05/04/2019 21:33

I've had 2, they were fine. I got worked up so bad night before.

1st induction went very fast and delivers 20 mins after I arrived in labour suite.

2nd took two pessaries but baby arrived just after midnight. I found this linger and a bit harder but I think that was because I was expecting a super fast labour.

Good luck op, you will be fine. Try get a good nights sleep, try going for walk if you can after pessary 😊
