Hi

Where can I rent a tens machine. And how much did you pay for how long? Thanks

I rented mine through boots, did it online, they then sent a cd and voucher and I had to order it directly from another company. A bit long winded really, personally I wise I'd bought one either second hand or new as I forgot to use it in labour, so it was a waste of money for me 🤦

I've noticed a lot of companies doing it on eBay, if you type in tens machine it will come up with hire, also a few were selling refurbished machines with funny ending times like 3am which went for a few quid so I wish I'd bidded on! Ended up buying s new one from boots as I was 39 weeks and didn't want to risk waiting to sort hire... 41 weeks tomorrow and no baby Grin

I bought the Boots tens machine for €50. Haven't used it yet but has great reviews.

You can buy one secondhand on eBay that's only been used once or never for labour and then sell it on in your turn - can be cheaper and means you don't need to worry about when exactly you go into labour.

Boots but this was 9 years ago not sure if they still do it

I rented one from a company called Birth-Ease via Amazon - about £24 and need to return it 3 weeks after due date so for me that's the end of April- they include a pre-paid envelope for this. They sent it out straight away as I only did it at 36 weeks but I think they said they'd send at 37 weeks. New electrode pads and batteries, the rest is used but working fine - it's an Elle Tens one.

I'm fairly sure I rented mine thougrh the mothercare website.

I had a little look around and ended up renting mine from Birth Ease. It’s an Elle Tens which I then saw come up on here on another thread with really good reviews. It arrived a few days after ordering and whilst I’ve not used it for labour yet (patiently waiting!) my dp tested it and all working fine. My midwife also said LLoyds Pharmacy rent them but I couldn’t see that it was one for labour, I think the pads might vary in size? The one from Birth ease is for labour so I went with it and it was only £22 or something. www.birthease.co.uk/birthease_shop/Elle-TENs-Machine-Hire.shtml That’s the link if it helps x

Our children’s centres rent them out. Perhaps ask your midwife?

Rented one through Boots recently. I ordered it and gave them due date, they sent it out to arrive around 37 weeks.www.bootsmaternityrentalproducts.co.uk/

I bought one one eBay second hand. Amazon sell the pads for £5, so just as hygienic as a rental.

CoffeeAndCakeEssentials · 05/04/2019 16:18

Birth-Ease online was the cheapest I found and they hired it for the longest time. Good luck

cherrryontop · 05/04/2019 16:19

Tesco pharmacy , can't remember the cost but the rental period was flexible so it covered before due date up until about 3 weeks after the due date.

tessiegirl · 05/04/2019 16:21

I rented mine through the mothercare website.
