Am I having my baby soon???

Hello! I was wondering if anyone could help me at all. I went to see my local midwife yesterday and had a stretch and sweep as I was due on Monday just gone. She said I was 2cm dialated but my baby's head isn't engaged. She also told me that the baby's back is against my back. I had a show this morning and have been suffereing from severe lower back pain (a bit like period pains). I've heard this could mean I'm in labour but I'm not sure. I had the baby's heart beat monitored at the hospital yesterday due to lack of movement from the baby. They said the baby was fine and that I was having contractions, but I couldn't feel them?!? Am I in labour? Or will the baby be on its way anytime soon???

it sounds like it will come soon... its usually alot slower when they are back to back (my first one was too)

My first baby was back to back so was a slow labour. I also felt the contractions in my lower back more than my tummy so it sounds like baby will make an appearance soon.

Good Luck

Baby will be here anytime on the next two weeks!

the good thing is that things are beginning and your body knows what it is doing! Have a look at one of my favourite sites which helps give you info about what to expect. www.birthingnaturally.net/birth/progress/elmistake.html

Have a good look all around it!

For an OP baby, take the stair sideways (movement of hips will help the rotation and settling into pelvis), lean over your excercise ball or do pelvis rock on all fours so that you keep your belly as a hammock for baby and encourage it to turn, Do not recline back, sleep on your left side, and do not allow Artificia rupture of membranes without very good reason!
