I’ve been considering investing in the spritz your bitz spray for relief after I give birth in May, but it’s quite expensive. Has anyone used it before or can recommend a cheaper/homemade alternative? Xx

It's too expensive imo.

Put witch hazel on maternity pads. Wrap in clingfilm and leave them in the fridge. Hey presto!

(also add lavender oil to Bath water and have sitz baths the days after birth)

I just put a few drops of lavender oil on my maternity pads. It worked pretty well.

I invested...... Its fab.... I spray onto my pads rather than spraying direct, it's lovely and soothing, it may not be connected but I've had no infection, and according to my midwife my healing is excellent (episiotomy leading to 3rd degree tear) I'd definitely recommend it xx

Tucks pads. Search on amazon. You're welcome. Grin

Thanks everyone. I’m still undecided what to do. With DS1 the midwife told me a combination of oils to use, which was amazing, but that was nearly 5 years ago so I have no idea what was in it!

I used Earth Mama Angel Baby bottom spray last time, and planning to again. I think it's cheaper than Spritz for Bitz.

It was well worth it IMO. I've only had 1 baby so nothing to compare it to but found it very soothing and healed really well after episiotomy.

Thanks ladies x

If you Google 'padsicles' there are instructions for an aloe vera, witch hazel and lavender spray you make yourself (very cheaply, all bits from local chemist), spray on pads and then freeze them. I kept a little bottle of the spray in the bathroom and it was great.
