Polyhydramnios at 37 weeks

Hi all, first time posting but I’m freaking out! I had a growth scan at 36 weeks as baby measuring big (about 8lbs) but they also found a pocket of fluid measuring around 25cm so diagnosed Polyhydramnios. Consultant said probably due to GD but my test has come back today as negative. I did the worst thing and googled it! Has anyone else been in this position and if so please can put my mind at ease?! I have an appointment in a few days with consultant to book in for CS but I’m worried that it might be harming the baby I’m the meantime?

I had this suspected too. I was encouraged to come in for a second scan, which I did, and was very worried in the meantime! The second scan showed that it was probably just a big baby, and she absolutely was at 8lb8.

Apparently there wasn't even all that much water in there, by the time I delivered.

My great aunt, who was a midwife back in the day, said in the old days they thought lots of fluid was a good thing -more protection for the baby. Try not to drive yourself too mad by googling.
