what to pack in hospital bag?

anyone bored and want to do a list for me? i know you get a basic list in the pg books, but what will i actually need, bearing in ind i'm meant to be staying in 48 hours after the birth.

Just what I needed - have printed it out to put on top of bag - now just need to collect all together. And do a bit of extra shopping!

I would really recommend getting the maternity pads to use for the first week or so. The new type of pads with the 'dry-weave top sheet' can be like sandpaper if your undercarriage is tender. Also a bottle of witch hazel solution to dribble onto the pad is very soothing for bruised bits.

As for all the rest of the stuff, just divide it into 2 bags, take half in to the hospital with you and keep the extra stuff in the back of the car as you can guarantee that DP / DH will not remember what / where things are if you need more stuff from home.
